Think of what has happened beyond the gates over those years!). 🙌🏼 It also marks the first time two women have co-coordinated the exhibit. 💪🏼 This year there are tons of poignant works dealing with topics of the day - and there are also many minority and under-represented artists on show. And there are some heavy hitters that fall into all three of those categories which is super cool. Shortly after you enter, have a look for the Zanele Muholi portrait. Zanele is fascinating and is worth looking up. Also note the Njideka Crosby piece - and if you haven’t seen “The Price of Everything”, look that up too (ugh, sorry, I sound like my mom). 😆 Toward the middle to end spend time with the Ai Wei Wei urns - really look at the story he is telling. (Disclosure, he is guest number 1 at my imaginary dinner party) ◻️ Now, onto the photos I included The first is an assemblage of photographs by Isaac Julien RA taken 35 years ago but that could have been taken yesterday. Spend time with those. ◻️ Next shot is someone very important doing an interview. Then the small portraits by Anne-Marie Butlin. I know that I did not take a great photo but look closely - how can someone create that kind of life with a paint brush and tubes of color? Amazing. ◻️ I think that the woman’s trousers match that big column, don’t they? ☺️ Also - loving those colourful pieces in the background by Joe Tilton RA ◻️ Sneak peek at the Ai Wei Wei urns (mmmmm, & a flat Mercedes behind them). ◻️ & I missed that really cool wave picture / painting / drawing at the top of this photo & now I can’t zoom in on the number to tell you anything about it but isn’t it amazing how you can totally miss something the first time but then it calls to you? 🙌🏼 *sigh* I love art. ❤️ I wish I’d have been born a Saatchi. ◻️ Also the weird wiener thing can be yours for £1200.
