Most SAG members earn just under $40K per year and 85% of us don’t even make the required $26K per year to qualify for health insurance. The Tom’s, Chris’ and Jennifer’s you know from your favorite blockbusters and magazine covers make up less than half a percent of our union. This fight is about getting a fair share from streaming revenues and film/TV content sales in order to be able to earn a livable wage with health insurance for our kids. It’s about receiving basic protection from AI innovation that could potentially threaten our very livelihoods. And let’s not forget the devastating impact the strike has had on all the hundreds of thousands of other workers who help us bring your favorite movies and TV shows to the screen.
