47/100: trying new things :: 1st #stabilo pen doodle from this awesome roll-up set purchased at my favourite @plaza_art. Lately I've been feeling a little bit of creative block, like writer's block but with my illustrations and doodles. I think it's mainly due to the busyness and fluctuations of life, which indicates I need to make more room for inner rest. Alongside re-prioritizing my time, one thing that helps me move through creative dry spots is to simply just doodle what I love. To be childlike and just have fun in the process. There's no pressure to stretch my skills or to make something awesome. Just simply doodle what make my heart smile. Don't get me wrong - I think it's absolutely crucial to challenge one's self creatively in trying new things, moving out of the familiar and being open to both affirming feedback and constructive critique as well. But there is a time and space for that. Just like there needs to be a time and space for artists to create from their heart unfussed and totally free.
