Nice to meet up w old friend Arthur Sulzberger, Jr. yesterday and reminisce about our last climb together w @dougworkman on the Petzoldt Ridge of the Grand Teton. That was almost 10 years ago. Arthur pulled off a large block at the base of the route that day and his leg took a pretty bad hit. He got up, brushed himself off, proceeded to climb one of the more technical routes on the mountain and summited in good time. I was always impressed by that....and the fact that he was / is the the publisher of the @newyorktimes. Yesterday we chatted, snapped a few photos, looked at the original @ニューヨーク・タイムズ paper announcing Lincoln's assassination. I saw a simple quote on his desk that I remember him mentioning on the Grand - "never never never give up." Words he lives by. Nice of him to take the time to catch up.
