Ahlam, 12, and her brother, Marwan, 14, sit in the tent where they now live in Shariya Camp, in Dohuk Governorate, in #Iraq’s Kurdistan Region. The two live on their own – and did so in their home village, Tal Izer, as well – because their parents passed away years ago. When they received their cash transfer, they used some of the money for new clothes. They also bought phone cards in order to keep in touch with their extended family. Both Marwan and Ahlan attend a #UNICEF-run tented school in Shariya Camp.
