Photo @Cory Richards On assignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック with @intotheokavango After 45 days and nearly 500 km since we left the source of the Unexplored Cuito River in the Angolan Highlands, we've arrived at Cuito Cuanavale. We've portaged, chopped, floated, and paddled. No one is sleeping because any way you lay, it triggers a sore muscle, bruise, or cut. We've all added a few holes to our belts. The river is wider, the fauna is growing more abundant with every passing kilometer, and we are roughly one third of the way through the expedition. Next milestones are the Namibian border, and finally the Okavango Delta itself.
