80/100: trying new things :: our air conditioning decided to take an indefinite nap amidst 90 degree stickiness, so we decided to make the most of the situation and be mindful of how rich we are to even have the luxury of air conditioning in the first place. We then proceeded to do what any reasonable person would and pretended we were explorers in the Arabian desert and set up camp downstairs (where it's a bit cooler) complete with a primary coloured tent and an array of electrical fans (not pictured). We used our imaginations to look at the constellations, shooting stars and the "silly angels with their sparkly magic" all around us. And then as the night settled in, my growing little boy snuggled Teddy, looked over at me and said, "You want to cuddle me in our special tent, ma-mom?" And in one singular moment with the beauty of a child's heart and the melting one in mine, I was reminded of how our inconveniences are sometimes the sweetest gifts and miracles in disguise.
