SENIOR SUNDAY! Are you ready for the BEST @susiesseniordogs update?! For seven long months 10 year old King has searched for his forever home. King's story started back in December 2014 when he was found abandoned in a cold, empty building and then brought to the local animal control. He was adopted for one week, but returned when it was discovered he struggles with anxiety and their home was not a good fit for King's needs. Back at animal control, King faced a brick wall: He's old, he's a pit bull, and he is emotionally sensitive. It's hard enough to get the young pups adopted! All of this was very confusing for King. Shelter life is difficult for animals. Thankfully, King moved over to @animalhaven where he could have all the time he needed to find his home. But again, shelter life was extremely distressing and not helping his anxiety one bit. We posted him over 15 times on SSD and he was even featured on several large media sites. With each passing attempt to find King his special home, it was getting harder and harder to stay optimistic. But then, a miracle happened--the most perfect couple in the world saw his story (after his 15th or so post!) and after several visits and an approved application, they ADOPTED @theking.of.newyork!! Lexa and Tim are two of the coolest humans out there who have given @theking.of.newyork the gift of a lifetime. King now lives with his mom and dad on the UES in NYC where he takes daily walks, dines al fresco, and even takes Uber rides around town! In just a few days at home, King has already made huge improvements with his anxiety. Lexa wrote, "King's first night was amazing! He is a fan of the Friday Night Lights TV show my boyfriend Tim and I watch and he loved snuggling with us. Then he slept in his new crate with his new comfy bed and slept peacefully though the night! I've noticed a cute confident strut he has when he walks and he loves the attention of people telling him how handsome he is! We are so excited for him and can tell that he loves his new home!"
