I hear you brother. I am happy that I have friends who post things like this rather than the latest celebrity gossip all day. It is entertaining and I get why ppl are enamored by the latest celeb drama BUT, let's take the time to be aware of what is going on around us. We need to form opinions and think about what situations like this mean. Don't walk around blind to the BS. There are real things happening in the World and Twitter beefs aren't what I'm talking about. Find the balance between enjoying life/entertainment and experiencing reality. Stay aware. Stay awake. #blacklivesmatter

Sandra Bland's story has been one of the most difficult to digest in the past couple of years. Every single detail of this case is just as terrifying as it is infuriating. This could literally be any one of us, in any city, all over this country - running errands, headed to work, out for a night on the town with loved ones. Growing up, my mother would always tell me to be careful when I left the house; people would urge me to abide by the laws of the land and know my rights. What happens when you adhere to all of the aforementioned advice? This.
Accounts like this one make it so hard to talk about. As they surface and mount and we're hashtagging one Black name after the other, week after week...I'm just completely at a loss. I'm informed, I vote, I march, I keep the conversation going. I don't pretend to be someone who has all the answers.
