Photo by @edkashi/@viiphoto: Workers rake through dirt at a brick #kilnfactory in Barasat, #India, just outside of Kolkata on Jan. 26, 2015. Brick manufacturing has been a fast-growing industrial sector. The smoke from the brick kilns emit large amounts of #pollution containing sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide. The toxic fumes that are emitted on a daily basis have caused serious health hazards for the workers as they can be harmful to the eyes, lungs, and throat and can also stunt the mental and physical growth of children.
