It runs long lengths at high altitude reaching as high as 13,271 feet, with the bulk of the trail holding an altitude of over 10,000ft. @chuckfryberger seen here perched near the highest point of the trail deep in the San Juan Mountains, looking out at the inevitable coming thunder storm. This was taken while documenting a 177 mile mountain bike tour of the Colorado Trail and Continental Divide Trail in 5 days, spanning numerous mountain ranges, stunning views and wild weather.
