Happy birthday to conceptual artist #JennyHolzer! In 2008, Holzer's site-specific light projection "For the Guggenheim" lit up our Frank Lloyd Wright building facade with the artist’s own writings and selections from poems by Wisława Szymborska. Text-based light projections have been central to Holzer’s practice since 1996. Her incisive work draws on the explosive power of the written word to tackle some of the most pressing issues of our time, incorporating strategies of mass-communication and the politics of public space.
