This is why we focus so much of our conservation efforts on saving lions from canned hunting in Africa. Cecil was no ordinary lion -- he had been tagged by the Wildlife Unit of Oxford University in the U.K. and was the subject of over a decade of research. This once proud alpha male lion was shot with a bow and arrow and then stalked for more than 40 hours before being killed by a rifle.

Canned hunting is an atrocious act of cruelty and we strive to raise awareness for trophy hunting with the hopes of one day making it illegal globally. Our goal is to rescue as many of these beautiful creatures as possible. We hope you will join us in our efforts to stop canned hunting once and for all.
