My heart hurts today for the horrific death of Cecil the Lion. He didn’t deserve such a cruel death for the sake of a sick person’s ego.
Cecil was a very majestic animal. Lions represent wisdom, power, dignity, courage, and strength.
The people who kill them, have none of those character traits. They are in fact the opposite and are simply cowards who are trying to gain some sort of strength that they feel they are lacking, by killing a powerful animal.
Why is it that children who kill animals are considered psychopaths, yet adults who trophy kill animals are called hunters? Who changed the mindset and made it ok to break the moral compass at age 21?
Trophy hunters, use your riches to help the injustices of the world and not kill animals.
Animals need our help and need our voice since they don’t have one. We need to respectfully speak out about these injustices whether it is for animals in the wild like Cecil or farm animals for our food. And we need to shine light on these injustices and shame those who perpetuate them.
These lions deserve to live their lives without the threat of evil people cowardly stalking them and senselessly killing them for their own selfish and psychopathic desires. How could killing an innocent and majestic animal bring any type of satisfaction?
