Just returned to Sheffield from a month spent in Ladakh. After two months of mostly indoors living post shoulder operation I can't explain how nice it was to be in the big silent mountains breathing fresh air. If you'd told me before my injury that you could have a fun adventurous trip sans rock climbing it would have been like telling me a square could be round. The people of Ladakh really made the trip for me. They are completely content to devote their lives to the land and their family and never ask for more. Unshakeably kind and honest to strangers I always had to ask myself: when did it go so wrong for the rest of us?
