As if to create the electric equivalent of a New Jersey gas station attendant, Tesla has released video of an autonomous car charger, capable of plugging itself in. Even Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who has warned of robots turning on humanity, seemed to admit that there was something eerie about it, tweeting, "Does seem kinda wrong." Seeing the solid metal snake-like plug find its way to charge the car is a pretty impressive feat, but not completely unexpected. Tesla CEO Elon Musk teased the automatic charger in a tweet on New Year's Eve. "The video is just an example of some of the cool stuff we're always working on behind the scenes," Tesla told CNBC, but wouldn't reveal when or if the prototype would be available soon for purchase. The video debuts on the same day Tesla shares have tumbled some 9 percent on the news that the company expects to sell fewer vehicles for the year than originally expected.
