"When covering a concert, I always push to get extra access, to show fans something more than they'll see on stage, and #NoDoubt has always given me full access to shoot everything. I took this photo on the second night of a four-night run that the group did in Irvine, California, in 2009. They're from Orange County, and seeing them there is always a treat. Local fans have been coming to see them for years, and the connection is extra special. On this tour, the band played on an all-white stage, and the crew had to dress in white jumpsuits to blend in. I wanted to shoot the concert portion of this show from the stage, to capture the band's relationship to the fans, and was asked to wear one as well. I was showing #GwenStefani pictures I shot at the previous night's show, and she let me photograph her getting ready. I got a few frames of her putting on makeup, then had to suit up in a white jumpsuit to head out on stage as well." As told to @Rolling Stone by photographer @shearerphoto
