To be honest, when I was standing on the stage saying the pledge and singing the National Anthem together with all 1000 guests for Our Homeland Banquet at Downtown East yesterday night, tears came to my eyes.
I was thinking about how far our country have come and how difficult this journey had been. Maybe filming for The Journey had made me understand and become more aware of how our older generations have toiled and fought for peace, stability and a home.
I also realized that no one should rest on their laurels because it took a lot of hard work to enable our country to progress thus far.

Feeling really proud to be a Singaporean and I want to wish Singapore many peaceful, prosperous and happy 50 years to come and thank you for giving me a chance to be part of such a meaningful event and celebrate National Day with so many fellow countrymen.
