#DorisSalcedo, Untitled, 1989-90/2013. 11 stacks of white button-down shirts are coated with plaster and pierced with steel rebar. Originally shown at one of Salcedo's first solo exhibitions in Bogotá, and recreated for our retrospective, these works respond to the 1988 massacres at La Negra and La Honduras banana plantations in northwestern Colombia. Our exhibition on the the searing, deeply poetic work of the Colombian artist is on view now through October 12.
