Although this summer was extremely cold and wet until mid-August in Norway, we were surprised when we found lakes covered by ice sheets at 500-600m height in the Saltfjellet-Svartisen National Park last week. During our 5-days hike we were blessed with good weather (the first week with real summer temperatures in Norway)—the Sun was shining from cloudless sky and it was totally calm. Normally we do not like this type of weather for photography in the mountains, however, it was perfect for shooting reflections in the late evening lights. On this image you can see blue ice floating on the surface of a lake that is reflecting white snow patches covering the mountain slope above.
