The #espys happens to land on the anniversary of the date that my life changed forever! 16 years ago, I walked into the hospital with what I thought was the flu, 2 1/2 months later my family wheeled me out missing my legs, my spleen, my kidney function and the carefree 19 year old life that I knew. Had I of won the award yesterday this is what I would have said. "Although my life may look glamorous, the majority of times it isn't. In order to get where I am today I had to fail and fall many times. But I learned that challenges are good, they force us to get creative and to find a way, they make us dig deep, find our fire and find out what we are really made of. No matter what your circumstances, never.. ever give up and always find a way!" Every challenge, every obstacle, every hardship has turned me into the person I am today.
