The creation of Carla Sozzani, former fashion editor and publisher 10 Corso Como opened its doors in Milan in 1990,named after the street address . The converted industrial building was designed by US artist Kris Ruhs as was the distinctive black and white logo.
"A radical new union of culture and commerce, 10 Corso Como promotes slow shopping through a succession of spaces and events that reflect lifestyle over object acquisition " .
The concept went international with stores opening in Seoul, Shanghai and more recently Beijing.
Underground is now being launched in the Shanghai and Beijing stores and on the upcoming e-comm site in China.
