"Salt Creek, 1971. After the Young Brothers sold out and moved away, just before the watermelon and cantaloupe fields were removed, and a few months before the grading for the Ritz Carlton was scheduled to start -- this was the view from the lookout spot we frequented. Growing up in South Orange County, Salt Creek was a magical place to have as a surf spot, offering the best waves in the area. It changed after the bulldozers came."
