Photograph by @paulnicklen // With a fully-raised sail and in full-body display of flashing electric colors, a sailfish grabs a sardine out of a bait ball in the Gulf of Mexico. After spending hundreds of hours in the water with these agile, fast and athletic fish, I grew to respect them as sophisticated animals that hunted together in coordinated behavior. They behaved much closer to the very intelligent marine mammals that I have spent so much time with. I was in complete awe. #gratitude #sailfish #fish #hunting #beauty #love #nature #underwater
