Sara and I want to thank all of you for all the well wishes for our wedding and marriage you sent us over the weekend! We had a beautiful two nights of music, dancing, laughter, tears, hugs, kisses, yoga, food, drink, family, friends, bands, DJ's, fun and ceremony. It was a wedding of the heart and my favorite part was Sara and I exchanging the vows we had each written for each other. It took me a while to get the words out between the gasps of air and tears but eventually I was able to say them all and then listen to what Sara had written for me, which melted me even further. Another favorite moment was when my brother Art and Sara's brother Neema read each of our family's history dating back several generations, with the fullness of our combined heritage spanning Iran, to Africa, America, Ireland, Germany, Belgium and Finland. The collective journey including refugees emigrating for safety and a new life, slavery in Virginia, to the Nottoway Indian tribe all leading to our two family rivers connecting as one.
So many moments of spontaneous dancing, singing broke out throughout the days and night that we all left tired with smiles on our faces. One of those moments occurred in this video just after we'd finished the ceremony. You may notice something rather unusual if you look carefully, me wearing shoes! I did so at the request of Sara's amazing mother who gently requested that I wear shoes in some of the portraits we took, so the day before, I spent a day trying to find a store that had a pair of dress shoes big enough for me. I finally found one pair of size 13's for my size 14 feet I wore them in the photos and then decided that for Sara's mom I'd keep them on for the ceremony. They didn't stay on long after that :-) Sara and I are so grateful to be back in our home together as newlyweds and grateful, to our families and all who made our wedding full of love!!! #TeamFrantiAgah #LoveLife @saraluadesign #wedding #bride #BeServeRock
