Photograph by @paulnicklen for @sea_legacy. A Winged Pteropod, also known as a sea butterfly or sea angel floats around the Barents Sea near Svalbard, Norway. These pteropods are free-swimming snails that use wing-like flaps to navigate through the water column. This one was less than half and inch in diameter.
