Almost everyone in the surf world knows that water temps in Southern California have been well above average over the past few weeks. Even if you weren't in #SoCal to sample the recent run of surf, you likely saw #HurleyPro heats with guys and gals sans-rubber at #Trestles. Looking at #California CDIP buoy stations operated by #Scripps, 16 of 19 active SoCal buoys set station records over the summer, with most of these occurring in September. Buoy stations around Montery/San Francisco also set station records and buoys in #Hawaii have rewritten their top 25 temp records this summer with coral reefs under threat from bleaching as a result.
