I received this personal note the other day from one of the top ten contestants in the America’s Favorite Veterinarian contest, regarding the choice she made last week to stop declawing. It’s these kind of notes that keep me and my mom going and I hope they inspire you too. “I want you to know that this happened 100% because of you and what you are doing. I just feel like something shifted in my heart and I knew this was the right step for me. Keep up the work that you do”, Dr Marcy Hammerle of The Pet Doctor, O'Fallon, Mo.
Dr Hammerle is an inspiration to all of us to believe that ALL veterinarians who have a heart and who took an oath to heal animals, can have the realization that there is no place in their noble profession that says it is ok to amputate kitties toe bones and claws.
I want you all to know that each and every one of you can be a positive influence and make a difference with your own veterinarian. Touch their heart. Encourage their mind. Inspire them with the possibility of the true fulfillment they will feel by doing the right thing by not declawing kitties anymore. If they have a heart, the possibility is always there.
I am one orange kitty who just wants to be a voice for all the kitties who don’t have one. You are one awesome and passionate human being with a heart who cares deeply for the welfare of animals and kitties. Together we can change their world for the better… and we are.
And it is so exciting to hear the big news today that Dr Hammerle is officially The @PawProject Director for the state of Missouri. Her veterinary practice is the only one in that state that doesn’t declaw kitties. #ThankYou #StopDeclawing #CitytheKitty #cooltohaveclaws #heart
