An image from long ago while shooting a story on the Galapagos.
I knew boats were catching sharks for their fins where I was working so I was on the look out for nets strung across bays where sharks come to feed.
I got into the water and saw 3 sharks caught in nets - looked over in the distance and a whole school of hammerheads were
watching members of their family slowly die. We cut the shark out of the net to see if he could be saved but unfortunately no.

I post this - my only try at photography underwater, as my mind has been racing since I saw Racing Extinction. A vital film for our time.
There is hope . Each one of us can make a difference, saving big cats, and saving the oceans and all that live within.
90% of big fish and sharks have disappeared from our oceans, from overfishing and shark finning. The top predators in any ecosystem are vital for the health of that ecosystem.

50% of our oxygen comes from oceans and plankton - 50% from forests - where big cats live.
If you save the top predator in any ecosystem you save everything underneath them.
