#AroundTheWorldIn8Days Elephants have a long and storied history in India. As far back as the Bronze Age they were used as weapons of war by humans due to their size and intelligence. Since then they've been used to carry Indian nobility, freight and today many tourists. This photo comes from the Jaipur Festival of Holi with elephants bathing in the river to clean themselves of the colored dye from the celebrations. As of 2013 the festival has excluded the use of elephants when it was discovered the dye might be poisonous to these beautiful endangered creatures. #Elephants #Beautiful #India #Discovery #Conservation
