Happy #Halloween! ? This photograph in our Archives dated circa 1918 shows the Guggenheim's first curator #HillaRebay and artist #RudolfBauer. Rebay and Bauer met through their association with Der Sturm, an avant-garde gallery and publishing house in Berlin, just a year or two before these photographs were taken. Not much else is known about these photographs, including where they were taken, who the photographer was, or why they are posing next to a human skull… the mystery remains!
