A strong frontal low strengthened east of New Zealand over the weekend, setting up a nice size fetch of 40-45kts+ winds well aimed at Tahiti. While not the strongest of storms, what really stood out to us was its close proximity to French Polynesia’s most well known zone. Less than 2000 miles to travel helps lessen the amount of swell that will decay, setting up a solid round of SW swell through the middle of the week. Winds look favorable to boot, with variable to light Easterly trades.
