Why did you choose to join Instagram? Answer: I chose to use Instagram as our primary platform because I felt it was the most personal, authentic way to connect with others. I enjoy photography, and it gives me a chance to show chef techniques and ingredients, encouraging people to get in the kitchen. We post a lot of skin care tips and recipes, so photos allow us to easily convey our topic making our feed a great resource for inspiration. ________________________________________Q: How has Instagram helped you more than other social networks, to connect with your consumers? A: The visual aspect of Instagram helps us immediately convey what we are, and how we are different as a food-based skin care company. I personally manage our Instagram account, so I am able to interact with our customers to answer questions, share an idea, or give a “thank you” to anyone who tags us in a post. This also gives me opportunity to glimpse into that person’s daily life, hobbies, and interests, which helps me create content and products that are the best fit for our audience. ________________________________________Q: How has UGC (User-Generated Content) helped you develop your account? A: We have not posted much UGC in the past in order to keep our feed and branding consistent and recognizable. This strategy is used so much by other brands, and rather than get caught in the mix, we focus on creating our own unique content. We will be using more UGC in the future for promotional purposes (contests, etc.)
