Places like Boreray that night when thousands of Gannets came out to greet us just as a flash of flash of sunset light lit up the towering cliffs. My mind keeps drifting back to my travels in the Hebrides Islands because for the next three nights I’m in concerts with the New West Symphony in the Los Angeles area for performances of Felix Mendelssohn’s beautiful and haunting Hebrides Overture. He was only 19 years old when he went to the islands and visited Fingal’s Cave on Staffa. My photographic journey parallels the sights the young composer would have seen in his journey of 1827, the sights that inspired this image-laden music. This music was always an inspiration for me ever since my first days of photography back in grade school. #nature #Scotland #hebrides @ナショナルジオグラフィック
