?Saoirse Ronan And Her Very Cultural Life? Saoirse Ronan is a star. At 21 she's already had a career most of Hollywood would happily retire on. And yet she's only just getting started, this month she stars in #Brooklyn - a gorgeous love story about a young woman called Eilis who emigrates from Ireland to New York in the 1950s. Naturally Saoirse - pronounced sir-sha in case you were struggling - shines. Here she tells us about her very cultural life - and yes, it involves the XFactor. The film of 2015… ‘I am very drawn to films about friendships between women, I saw ‘Miss You Already’ a few weeks ago, and I just thought Toni Collette and @drewbarrymore were so amazing together. It was lovely to see female relationships on screen that aren’t catty or anything like that. There’s a bond there with each other and they help each other, and that’s exciting.’ A book to read… ‘I’m doing the ‘Crucible’ in January so that will be my bible for the next eight months. But I just finished ‘I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings’ by Maya Angelou, and it was incredible.’ The TV show to get hooked on... ‘I’m watching 'Peaky Blinders' – love that. Cillian is the best. So is Helen McCrory. I also love #Veep, I love Julia Louis-Dreyfus. And #Homeland - the new series started and I’ve recorded them at home. That and the #XFactor. So there’s a lot to catch up on.’ An album to play on repeat… ‘I always buy the new #BeachHouse album when they come out, because I they’re great. The #Weeknd’s quite exciting. And Gabriella Aplin, she’s always great.’ And the theatre to see… ‘I saw Borstal Boy at the start of the year, with a great Irish actor called Peter Coonan, who was amazing and it blew me away. And I saw Hamilton in New York last week and it’s so good. As soon as you watch it you want to watch it again straight away.’ Brooklyn is in cinemas now. #instaview #saoirseronan #brooklyn #film
