Hello Beluga! Photo by @daviddoubilet A juvenile beluga whale explores my underwater camera in the #StLawrenceRuver near #Tadoussac #Canada. The younger belugas were very curious and engaged with enthusiasm. This population of belugas once numbered 10,000 + but has dropped to less than 1000. High infant mortality is a contributing factor in their decline. These are amazing and curious creatures to dive with and they make me laugh out loud underwater.
