Wu-Tang Clan's #OlDirtyBastard passed away on this day in 2004. "Russell Tyrone Jones, his older brother Ramsey and cousin Robert Diggs – later the Wu-Tang Clan's mastermind RZA – started making music together in Brooklyn's Linden Plaza housing development when Russell was eleven. 'We'd bang the beats on shoe boxes with comic books - and rap, 'RZA says. At thirteen, Jones formed a crew called All In Together Now that evolved into the Wu-Tang Clan, and he began to create a persona that crystallized when RZA gave him a new name. 'He was a dirty bastard in those days,' RZA says, laughing. 'If you left your girl in a room, he'd try to fuck her.' Adds Ramsey Jones, 'He took on the persona one hundred percent.
