To my lovely sister Emily. Born premature on February 20th 1994 at 28 weeks.
The photo above standing with my brother...if you look closely, behind is my sister at 34 weeks. Among some of the complications, she was on a ventilator. The head of the bed raised so her brain wouldn't bleed. She wore a mask in order to be under lights to help her bilirubin go down to help the liver filter. Leaving the hospital Emily was on oxygen and a heart monitor for 1 year.

I am so proud to have such a strong mother that could take her own daughter being born prematurely and be inspired to help others in similar situations. It takes an extra special soul and such incredible strength. Like my Dad says, she is a real life angel. I am incredibly thankful for all my mom has done and for all the nurses that took care of me when I was born and those that continue to save lives day in and day out." Today my sister is 21 years old and I am proud of the young woman she has grown up to be. So much life ahead of you. Keep working hard, smiling, and being you. Big brother loves you and has your back forever.
