You are looking at a fossilized dinosaur embryo.
Discovered in the Gobi Desert in 1993, this embryo was determined by scientist to be an unhatched oviraptorid, a meat-eating dinosaur whose long neck and long hind legs resembled those of an ostrich, while its cranial features were more like a parrot’s. Such a dinosaur might have grown to a length of 6 feet (1.8 m) and would have run on two legs, attaching prey with claws at the ends of their forelimbs. This specimen is approximately 4 inches (10.2 cm) long.
