These are my baked #apples. These are giant Wine-Sap Apples from Nancy Fuller’s farm. You core them and trim away a bit of the skin. For the four large wine sap apples, they were filled with a ¼ cup of dark brown sugar, ¼ cup of chopped pecans, ¼ of walnuts, ¼ cup of currants, a teaspoon of cinnamon, a teaspoon of allspice, and a little freshly grated nutmeg. Fill the apples with that mixture, and then I put a pat of butter on top of each apple. Then, add about ½ to ¾ cup of boiling water in your baking dish and bake them at 375 for 30 to 45 minutes until the apples are tender.
