In an act of unforgivable cultural vandalism to sneaker enthusiasts everywhere @cj_hendry has purchased a pair of Nike AirMags (US$8,700) only to slowly immerse their precious toes into a viscous soup of glossy jet black paint.
Yet with the destruction of this highly-prized product would come its pain-stakenly hand drawn reincarnation as CJ's latest high-end fashion piece. Just like the threads which made up the former shoes, countless thousands of scribbles went into its rebirth as a stunningly flawless oversized artwork. As controversial as this piece may be to some, there is an equal amount of generosity attached to it. CJ and I will be donating 100% of the profits to charity in the form of sneakers to under privileged children in New York. A small gift back to an inspiring and much loved city which is special to both of us. With this knowledge, I feel this work transforms from being far more than just an outrageous conversation piece.

It is important to note there's no affiliation with Nike, the shoes are very real and the possibilities as to how many people can be helped rely squarely on how much someone is willing to pay for this career-defining piece when it goes up for auction at Scope Art Fair in Miami next week.
