Here are two men I met while with the @unitednations in Africa with @elizabethmgore Their stories of perseverance and gratitude had a dramatic impact on me. In dire surroundings these men chose to stay positive and make sure their families were safe and they wanted us to tell the world their stories. Refugees have been a hot topic and plenty of False FEAR has been used by politicians to try and further their campaigns which is sad. These people have been torn from their homes and yet have the best attitudes and will to live. I know I have so much to be grateful for today, my family is safe, our home is ours and we haven't been torn from it. Today when you hear talk of refugees, take it from me they are amazing people who need our love and support. Yes there are bad apples in every bunch but as a whole they are HUMAN beings and I feel it our duty to help as we can. Today look at your family, look at your home and realize how blessed you/we are today. This can happen to any of us and if you think we are immune to this happening in America, your in some serious denial because this can happen anywhere. #gratitude #thanks #blessed #help #changeyourperception #UNGLOBALadvocate #joy #smiles #positive #family #sacrafice #donate #give
