#GoPro Featured Photographer: @robbiecrawford About the shot: Hey guys, my name is @robbiecrawford and I'm an ambassador for GoPro. In this feature I'm going to be sharing how GoPro Cameras opened me up to water photography and how it's evolution over the years empowered me as a photographer. I first got a GoPro when a surf photographer that I used to work with when I was a professional bodyboarder talked me into buying one so I could put it on the front of my surfboard when pulling in at  a surfspot called #theWedge. It was honestly the GoPro's affordable price point that even made me consider buying one and I think it's cool so many have gotten into water photography because of that who otherwise would have shied away due to the expensive cost of a DSLR and housing. After a few weeks of videoing surfing selfies I decided to try something new and had someone make me a pole out of PVC pipe to attach the camera to so I could shoot the more traditional ways of water videoography. Well one day I noticed the camera had a photo burst option so I put it on photo mode and pushed the button and took one burst sequence from the inside of a wave and then switched it back to video mode. When I got home and was browsing through the videos I had shot that day I was presently surprised when I came to the photo sequence and how good the quality actually was. How I capture the shot: I went from using video mode 100% of the time to using burst photo mode about 90% and video about 10% as my focus turned to capturing images of the beautiful phenomena of water + light that happens at the Wedge in the summer months as the sun is in a perfect position. HD1 shot a 3/2 sec burst so it was challenging to get the right timing but when things lined up it produced some beautiful imagery like this photo here. A backlit beauty.
