Developed entirely by Mercedes-AMG, this high-revving naturally aspirated V8 engine with 4-valve technology generated up to 387 kW (525 HP). The 6.3-liter V8 (M156) was the only one in the world with that kind of amply allocated displacement that operated according to their high-speed design concept. With a maximum torque of 630 Nm, the M156 outperformed comparable aspirated engines by about 20 percent. Its distinctive sound once again became an acoustic symbol of the AMG brand. The cutting edge engine experienced its first great sales success in the Mercedes-AMG E 63.
