Happy birthday to Mexican artist, Diego María de la Concepción Juan Nepomuceno Estanislao de la Rivera y Barrientos Acosta y Rodríguez or to many, Diego Rivera. Born in Guanajuato, Mexico in 1886, the controversial artist known for his paintings and murals was credited for starting the Mexican Mural Movement.

FACT: In 1933, Diego Rivera started painting a mural at the Rockefeller Center in New York City, but when it was demanded that he erase Lenin from its designs, he stopped painting the mural.
