Girls perform a traditional dance at the Taq Taq Friendly School in northern #Iraq. Taq Taq was recently rebuilt following the guidelines of #UNICEF child-friendly schools, embracing innovative approaches to working with students and disavowing corporal punishment. Sanitation improved, gender-segregated restrooms were created and classroom walls were renovated. The school got new desks and music equipment, most of it purchased by the staff and parents themselves. “I love my school and the teachers are good.
