Real talk from one of my boys. Tell 'em, Taj! #educateyourself #hiphop #Repost @tajiaqib with @repostapp. ・・・ Finna' spit these facts as I ride these tracks... ▪️▫️▪️▫️▪️ I love being intelligent. But I'm a dinosaur, because in today's world, people love being stupid. Got clowns like Future out here slurring and mumbling their way through tracks, and people loving it, loving having to decipher what a mf is saying lol. And when you find out the words, it's even more stupid than the mumbling sounded. That's what hip hop, or rap music - rhythm and poetry - a genre rooted in revolution, giving a voice to Black people, to the streets, has come to. Cats out here with college degrees, raised in middle class families, purposely making themselves sound dumb in order to make some money, meanwhile with each dollar that fills their pockets, they're setting their people another step backwards on the road towards slavery. Ninjas so happy and proud of being industry whores. You can't tell me this hasn't been done on purpose. We have more means then ever by which to educate ourselves, so how did hip hop culture go from it being cool to be intelligent, cool to have pride in your African ancestry, cool to be a street revolutionary, to be a dope lyricist...to this? Gangsta rap started the downward spiral and things have gotten progressively worse since. In a genre of music of which words are the most important element, our voices are literally (and methodically) being taken away. Because now, when you give a rapper a mic, a chance to speak to the world, what does he do with it? Mumble. Good boy. #WulfWords
