It's Day 1 of #SevenDaysToMakeAChange ! On our first day we're focusing on the environment - how can you spend some extra time caring for Mother Earth today? I'm writing this from my backyard where my husband and I are busy planting fruit trees and preparing our vegetable garden. I can't imagine leaving trash out here or using toxic chemicals where I walk barefoot every day - we should all treat our planet the same way we treat our homes! We live on a very hot island and unfortunately need to use air conditioning in our house. Every day we save the water that condenses from the units and use it to water our plants. The dream is to afford our own wind turbine for sustainable energy and we are inching closer toward our goal every day! I always pick up trash I find on the beach and even the ocean floor when I go diving, and we have a compost that lets us use our organic scraps to fertilize our trees. Mother Nature is magic! There are so many ways to care for the planet in our everyday lives and these are some of mine. What are yours?
