・・・ Five months after #CecilTheLion was shot and killed by an #American dentist, the U.S. Fish and #Wildlife Service announced today it has enacted strict #protection for #African lions under the #EndangeredSpecies Act. This decision has far-reaching implications that affect export, #hunting and #conservation of these majestic #animals. This is a major #victory, which #IFAW and its partners have petitioned for since 2011. While we’re saddened that there are as few as 20,000 African #lions in the #wild, we applaud the U.S. for stepping up as a leader in #animal conservation.
