prayer is a funny thing to talk about. it's so personal. so private. it means many things to many people. some attach a particular faith to it. some a particular feeling. some judge and compare the prayer of others to their own. some find prayer painful but deeply necessary. some find it deeply freeing...

I'm not a person who chooses to share much of my own philosophy on the subject. for me, faith and belief are a truly personal endeavor, and something I discuss deeply with those who are my nearest and dearest; the ones I trust with my soul. but last night I found myself moved to sit within the walls of Notre Dame. moved to close my eyes and tilt my face toward the stars and pray, should that be your chosen term. to meditate on the universe. on humanity. on all the tiny humans in that room, and to imagine all the tiny humans on the planet. my heart was on fire and I had tears in my eyes and I just found myself saying over and over again, "lift the veil." those words were practically whispered in my ear. and they just kept repeating. "lift the veil." let us see one another as each other. as we are. as one collective humanity. I prayed hard.

and then I rounded the corner and came upon this box. and my heart leapt and a smile crept across my face and I began writing down the things that had come to mind as I sat gazing at the ceiling of this holy place. "Message de paix" indeed. for the new humans. for the ones who've left. for all of us moving around on this tiny blue dot. let us carry peace in our hearts and minds and lift the veil. let us heal by loving. let us transform the world by transforming ourselves. #leadwithlove #paix #parisjetaime
